USPTO’s Director, Andrei Iancu, and Group Director of Technology Center 3600, Tariq Hafiz, will keynote the 16th Annual Summit on Protecting Innovations in the Financial Services Industry taking place July 24-25, 2019 at the Intercontinental New York Barclay, in NYC. This event brings together in-house counsel, law firms, and regulatory leaders to explore trends in technology innovation and recent developments in patent eligibility.
Iancu will address USPTO initiatives to promote innovations and Hafiz will share updates on patent prosecution. They are joined by an elite group of IP counsel from financial organizations including American Express, Mastercard, Capital One, Visa, Wells Fargo, CME Group, CoreLogic, and Microsoft.
“Given the recent announcement of the new guidelines on subject matter eligibility by the USPTO, it is an opportune time for IP counsel to gain clarity from the USPTO on how to bolster innovation in the financial services industry,” said World Congress CEO, Kathy Coffey. “It is critical for financial institutions to be at the forefront of technological advances while keeping pace with IP protection strategies and guidelines.”
